Workshop: "Messages with Wings" - May 23
In this workshop, participants grapple with the art of talking effectively about tough issues. How do we frame controversial messages so that we connect with others rather than losing them? How do we make the federal budget exciting? What makes a good introduction and a good closing? How can we face question and answer periods with confidence? Gray Panthers founder Maggie Kuhn said: “Speak your mind – even if your voice shakes.” Yes. And this workshop offers tools to help you do well. Presentation by Bobbie Wrenn Banks with small group exercises and large group discussion. Friday, May 23 from 12:30-1:30pm in the WRC.

Stitch & Bitch - Every Tuesday
Calling all PSU students, staff and faculty! Come knit with us! Don't know how? We will teach you. We have needles and yarn to show you how or you can bring your own. We hope to have enough knitters to make items for those in need at shelters. We will make hats, scarves and yes even socks! Knitting is a great way to build community and put our feminist principles into practice. So let's get together and use knitting as a tool for feminist action. Meet us at the WRC on Tuesdays from 12-2, show up early stay late, come for a few minutes or knit the afternoon away!
