9 Benefits of Volunteering at the WRC

The WRC volunteer program empowers women by providing student volunteers the opportunity to develop as emerging feminist leaders in our community.  We seek to support our volunteers in identifying, honing, and developing their individual leadership skills by providing opportunities to work in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Here are nine ways you can benefit from being a volunteer at the Women's Resource Center:

  • Serve the women of PSU and empower yourself
  • Develop yourself as a student leader on campus
  • Learn more about feminist organizing and activism
  • Meet and become involved with PSU's Feminist community
  • Develop professional office and customer service skills
  • Enrich your resume
  • Set personal and academic development goals and receive mentoring towards the attainment of those goals through service to the Women's Resource Center
  • Stay informed about events and opportunities to become more involved
  • Receive academic credit for your work, and apply hours toward practicum requirements with department approval

Are you pumped yet? To sign up for our volunteer program, call the WRC front desk (503-725-5672) and ask to schedule a half hour appointment with Bridge Gorrow, our Assistant Coordinator and Volunteer Director. For more information about our volunteer program, visit the Volunteer Program page.
